Taurus Mountain is very high, the most popular part of Antalya and Turkish Riviera of Turkey...It arises plenty of rivers, creeks from summit of Taurus Mountains and flows into the Medirranean Sea, Turkey and gives excellent conditions for white water river, canoeing, canyoning, river kaying sports.
Köprüçay River - Turkey : Emerging from the Toros (Taurus) Mountains and running through a number of amazing canyons, Koprucay flows into the Mediterranean Sea to the south of Serik. Koprulu Canyon National Park covers 36,000 hectares, including part of Koprucay and the ancient city of Selge. As Turkey's largest forest of Mediterranean Cypress, the National Park is rich in red pine, black pine, cedar, fir, oak and wild olive trees. The wild animals in the region include fallow deer, wild goat, wild boar, bear, wolf, fox, rabbit and various bird species. There are red speckled trout in the upper reaches and grey mullet in other parts of the Koprucay.
River - Turkey : Manavgat River originates on the eastern slopes of Western
Taurus Mountains in Turkey, and flows south over conglomerated strata for about
90 km, then over the Manavgat Waterfall and though the coastal plain and into
the Mediterranean Sea. There are many caves in the river watershed area, the
most interesting being the Altınbeşik cave.
The Manavgat River is one of the longest underground rivers, at the same time is among the few rivers in the world that are supplied from a single source. There are two dams on it. The Oymapinar and the Manavgat dams.Its clean and pure turquoise green water is rich with minerals.
Alara River - Turkey : The total
lenght of Alara River is 70 Km, therefore it is Turkey's one of most fast
flowing river, It is located in the north-east of Alanya and north-west of
Alara river is emerging from Taurus Mountains and and flows into the Mediterranean. Alara river Alara river's rafting course level is between 2,3, 4 and rafting available from March to November on this river.
Aksu Creek - Turkey : The Aksu (ancient name in Greek Κεστρoς, Kestros), is a river of Antalya Province (southwestern Turkey), which rises in the mountains of Toros. The course of the Aksu is between the Düden to the west and of the Köprüçay to the east. The Aksu is 100 metres (330 ft) wide at its mouth, and 3 metres (9.8 ft) deep within the bar, which extends across the mouth, and so shallow in places in its delta as to be impassable to boats that draw more than 1 foot (0.30 m) of water. The swell from the sea meeting the stream generally produces a violent surf. At its headwaters is the Kovada Lake and just below that the Karacaören Dam reservoir.
Dalaman River - Turkey : The
Dalaman River, whose ancient name was Indos, begins in the Kocas Mountain near
Dirmil and lies between Marmaris and Fethiye.
The total length of the river is 229 km. Increased by branches from the Goktepe and Yaylacik Mountains of West Toros (Taurus), it flows through a narrow and deep valley and reaches the sea 8km south of Ortaca.
As the river is fed with the natural limestone, the turquoise-blue water is always clear and warm. The Dalaman is near the popular areas of the Mediterranean and Aegean as Fethiye, Marmaris, Ölüdeniz, Dalyan, Datça, Bodrum, Akyaka, Köyceğiz, so it attracts local and foreign tourists and rafting is possible throughout the year.
Anamur ( Dragon ) River -
The River Anamur (Dragon) originates as an underground river from the Catalyatak,
Yellice and Kizcagiz hills on the slopes of the Toros (Taurus) mountains.
The underground spring erupts in several geysers close to the village of Sugozu, spraying water hundreds of metres high. The water level of the river is highest in spring, falling in summer and north of its source, enclosed basins and chasms can be seen.
The River Anamur is suitable for canoeing and rafting, and the best starting point for an expedition is at the junction of Kilic creek, finishing at the historic Alakopru bridge 10km south.
